Memorial Community Health, Inc. is pleased to welcome Samantha “Sam” Karr, APRN, FNP-C, to the team of medical providers at Memorial Health Clinic in Aurora. Sam joined the team Aug. 18, and will provide emergency care through Memorial Hospital’s emergency department and acute care through Memorial Health Clinic’s walk-in clinic.
Sam earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Sam brings more than 13 years of health care experience to her new role, primarily in emergency care.
“Acute and emergency care gives me the opportunity to care for and comfort people on some of their most stressful days, while also providing education and support to help them navigate their care,” says Sam. “I like the fast-paced nature of emergencies, with every shift bringing something different. Having grown up in rural Montana, I have a passion for rural health care and have a great appreciation for the sense of family rural communities have. I am looking forward to serving the community and helping patients feel safe, heard and supported in their care.”

Originally from Montana, Sam lives in Grand Island and enjoys camping, sewing, gardening in her greenhouse and spending time with her family and animals.
