MCC FAQs

Who generally moves to Memorial Community Care (MCC)?

Individuals who are needing a higher level of care may want to consider nursing home care, such as MCC.  Nursing homes are able to provide a broad range of assistance from general observation, cueing and stand-by assistance, all the way through to full assisted care with transfers, feeding and every day activities.

Are there certain qualifications for living at MCC?

There are screenings that need to be completed prior to an admission to any nursing home that include a review of both mental/physical health as well as financial assessments (Medicaid only).

May residents alter their rooms at MCC?

We love to remind residents and families that MCC is your home and we want you to be comfortable in your home!  Maintenance at MCC do a wonderful job of keeping our rooms updated.  We are unable to make changes such as paint color, but do encourage the hanging of pictures, decorations and any additional objects that bring a home-like environment to the room.

Can you receive rehabilitative services at MCC?

Memorial Community Health provides MCC with a wonderful outpatient therapy program.  If you are unable to qualify for a skilled stay through your insurance at a hospital or another nursing home, please consider MCC as a rehabilitative option.  MCC also provides a restorative program designed to maintain current abilities.

How do you stay active within the facility?

MCC has a wonderful activities program to keep residents engaged, active and involved in their community environment.  Please feel free to reach out to the facility to review the most current monthly activities schedule to get an idea of activities offered.

How do I pay for MCC?

MCC is considered a nursing home with payment options that include private pay or Medicaid.  MCC does not require residents to be private pay for a certain length of time prior to needing additional assistance such as Medicaid.  If you are needing additional assistance to pay for care and are not yet on Medicaid, please reach out to the Social Services Department who can assist in providing additional information on the Medicaid process.

What are the benefits of residing in a nursing home setting?

Nursing homes are a valuable environment where assistance is available in times of need, all within a nurturing, home-like community.  MCC is proud to be highly rated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as well as by residents currently residing in the facility.

Please feel free to call for a tour—we would love to share all about MCC!
