Brad Bangs, PT, Completes LSVT BIG Training for Parkinson’s Patients

December 5, 2025

Memorial Community Health is pleased to announce that Brad Bangs, PT, DPT, CLT, Director of Rehabilitation Services, has earned certification in LSVT BIG®, an evidence-based treatment program designed to improve motor function and quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.

LSVT BIG is an intensive, research-based therapy that helps individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve the size and speed of their movements. Parkinson’s often causes movements to become smaller and slower, making everyday activities—such as walking, dressing, and other tasks of daily living—more difficult.

LSVT BIG focuses on retraining the body to move with larger, more purposeful motions through customized, one-on-one exercises. These techniques help patients “recalibrate” how they perceive their own movements, enhancing coordination, balance, and overall mobility. The program also teaches individuals when and how to apply greater effort to achieve fuller, more natural movements.

Because treatment plans are tailored to each person’s goals and abilities, LSVT BIG can be beneficial at any stage of Parkinson’s. While early intervention often leads to the most significant improvement, individuals with advanced symptoms can also experience meaningful gains in function and quality of life.

“Completing LSVT BIG certification allows me to better support individuals with Parkinson’s disease in improving strength, balance, and confidence in their movement,” said Bangs. “I’m passionate about helping people live more fully and independently through personalized, evidence-based therapy.”

Memorial Rehabilitation encourages individuals with Parkinson’s disease or other movement-related challenges to consult their provider about a referral for therapy. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Memorial Rehabilitation at 402-694-8254.
